Appropriate certificates and clear ownership
suXus identifies the certificate type suited to the domains and applications, records ownership and, where possible, avoids manual renewal without alerts. A valid certificate does not establish that an application itself is secure; application and server security remain separate responsibilities.
From request to renewal
suXus inventories domain names, applications, technical endpoints and validation requirements. Requests, validation, installation and verification are then planned. Renewal is monitored within the management agreement; DNS, hosting and application endpoint changes are coordinated in advance.
Conditions and next steps
Issuance depends on correct domain or organisation validation and the conditions of the certification service. For the relationship with zones and records, see domain names and DNS; for certificates within a hosted website, see business web hosting.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
suXus manages the agreed request, installation and renewal activities. The customer arranges timely domain or organisation validation and reports changes to domains, applications and technical ownership. The certification service provider determines issuance conditions and supported validation methods.
Outcomes
Outcomes
An overview of certificates, domains, expiry dates, responsible parties and renewal steps within the agreed management scope. This does not automatically establish the availability of the underlying application or the security of its code.
Frequently asked questions
Does a valid SSL/TLS certificate make an application completely secure?
No. The certificate supports encryption and identification of the connection. Application code, server configuration, access and maintenance require separate security controls.
